Hitachi Origin Park
Hitachi Origin Park comprises of four facilities: The Odaira Memorial Museum,
the Sogyo goya, the Omika Club and the Omika Golf Club.
The Odaira Memorial Museum introduces the company’s mission and the founding spirit of “Wa (harmony)”, “Makoto (sincerity)” and “Kaitakusha-seishin (pioneering spirit)” along with the history of social contribution with stakeholders from around the world.
The Sogyo goya, representing Hitachi’s origin,
is recreated as a symbol for communicating the founding spirit to all future generations.
Hitachi Origin Park serves as a new venue for
dialogue with local community and partners from around the world.
Odaira Memorial Museum
The company’s mission, "contribute to society through the development of superior, original technology and products", which Odaira set, and the founding spirit are revealed along with cases where social issues are solved with stakeholders around the world.
The Founder's Ambition
The founder, Namihei Odaira and his aspiration of contributing to society through establishing an industrial business are introduced.
Challenges of Solving Social Issues
Hitachi’s history of solving social issues with stakeholders through the company’s mission and the founding spirit, is introduced in 4 chapters.

The social issues introduced in the Chapter are revisited to provide opportunities for the visitors to give thoughts to the future.
Tracing the History of Challenges
Visitors can experience the history of Hitachi’s challenges with key visuals from today to the time of the birth of the five-horsepower (5HP) induction motor.
Sogyo goya
The repair shop of Hitachi Mine Works Division, where the founding product, the five-horsepower (5HP) induction motor was born.
The Sogyo goya, representing Hitachi’s origin, is recreated as a symbol for communicating the founding spirit to all future generations.
Omika Golf Club
The Omika Golf Club was opened in October 1936 , with the view to improve employees benefits and entertain overseas guests. The golf course was designed by Seiichi Inoue, who was regarded as the master of golf course design.
The golf course is currently a 6-hole course and is open to the public.
Omika Club
The Omika Club built in 1936 as a clubhouse of “Hitachi Golf Club” has been refurbished as a place for “omotenashi” (hospitality).
The building was designed by Hideto Kishida who was regarded as a master of architectural design.
This refurbishment has kept parts of the building exterior with traditional elements of Japanese architecture and the feel of the lobby and the restaurant, while considering universal design and energy conservation.
